This website is dedicated to my uncle, Chris Chester. Many friends celebrated his life and mourned his death at services held in Portland on Sunday, April 29. His life and his book touched people deeply, and I'm hoping that this virtual memorial can be a place we collect pictures, stories and recordings of the man we loved. If you want to include something on this site, just email it to me and I will take care of the rest. If you don't have a digital rendering, send me the material by regular mail; I will scan and post, and return the original to you. Thanks, and be sure to stop by the guest book  to let us know you were here. (By the way, the photo in the upper left is Chris with his grand-nephew, Tennessee, at a family reunion in 1995.)

Thereís a special providence in the fall of a sparrow. If it be now, ít is not to come; if it be not to come, it will be now; if it be not now, yet it will come: the readiness is all. Since no man has aught of what he leaves, what is ít to leave betimes?

Happy Birthday, Chris!
